Find great places near you, wherever you are

One of Views On Top’s best features is the Near Me screen.

With Location Services turned on, it shows places near wherever you are with great views, and they can be seen on a map by tapping the ‘pin’ in the top right of the screen.

This screen would show if you’re in central Sydney, Australia…

See Views On Top destinations on a map

This is the map if you search Switzerland. Tap on any pin for details of the ~40 locations (so far!) with great views.

Choose from scenic cable cars taking you to panoramic mountain tops, cathedrals, elevated restaurants and bars.

Our favorite, the Thermalbad & Spa, is an amazing rooftop spa overlooking the whole of Zurich 🙂

We’ve categorised Views On Top destinations into nine types of locations (buildings, towers, monuments etc) and ten sorts of experiences (including observation decks, hikes, adrenalin activities, restaurants and bars).

Every destination is open to the public and easily accessible, unless noted otherwise in the location’s details.

Location details

Tap on any location to view it’s details – what you’ll see, opening times, how to get there and more.

Tap the screen and swipe for more images. Pictures show names of people who’ve submitted images.

Tap the Camera icon top right to add a photo. Once approved, the image will be attributed to you!

Tap the ‘message bubble’ icon to add a comment.

Create your travel diary and bucket list

Tap ‘+’ to add to your I’ve Been and/or I Want to Go lists (sign in to Views On Top first). Your lists are private, we can’t see what you choose!

Tap on the icons to see names of what’s there – restaurants, bars etc.

Suggest locations to add to Views On Top

It’s easy!

From the menu screen, tap Suggest New Location. Tap Use Your Current Location if you’re there, and let the auto GPS fill in the address for you. Or type in the address if you’re not.

Just add the Name, a note of why you recommend the place and any tips on getting there, then add a photo (preferably portrait orientation) and hit submit! Once the Views On Top team add the details, it’ll apear on the What’s New page with your name on the pic  

How do I record Places I’ve Been and Places I Want to Go ?

First log in to Views On Top, then tap ‘+’ on the location screen for any you want to add to your lists.

You can add places to both lists if you want and no-one’s going to check you’ve actually been anywhere 

Then tap on the I’ve Been and I Want To Go tabs. Swipe up to see your saved places and tap on any location to see its detail.

See your own travel diary and bucket list world maps

Tap the pin icon on the top right hand corner to see all the places you’ve been and want to go, on your very own maps of the world!

And if there’s somewhere you want to add to your list that’s not in Views On Top, please suggest it so we add it!

Only you can see this data. Algorithms in Views On Top consolidate the locations that all of our users have added to I Want to Go to create the What’s Popular screen. Your data is totally private and you can change it at any time.
